Gas Courier

An intelligent gas sampling device born from the Innovation Competition

Gas Courier began as a project for the China International College Students' Innovation Competition (Sprout Track). Our team designed an intelligent gas sampling device that addresses real-world challenges in environmental monitoring and chemical analysis.

The project won the Regional Gold Award at the Chongqing selection round in May 2025, then advanced to the national competition where it earned the National Gold Award in October 2025. We later entered the same project into the Conrad Innovation Challenge 2025–26 season, advancing to the national finals in March 2026 and winning the Best Innovation Award.

Throughout the process, we spent extensive time in the lab — designing prototypes, running experiments, and refining our approach based on feedback from judges and mentors. The experience taught me how to bridge the gap between a scientific concept and a working solution.

Rechargeable Lithium-Fluorinated Carbon Battery

Deep space exploration energy storage research

Through the Chongqing Youth Innovation Talent Training Eagle Program (14th Session), I've been conducting research on rechargeable lithium-fluorinated carbon batteries at Chongqing University since October 2024. The project focuses on energy storage solutions for deep space exploration — an area where conventional battery technology faces extreme challenges.

This is my second time participating in the Eagle Program. In June 2023, I completed the 10th Session with a project on 'Earth's Life Evolution and Large-Scale Oil and Gas Accumulation,' earning an Excellent rating. That experience introduced me to university-level research methodology and sparked my interest in chemistry and materials science.

Working in a university lab has taught me the patience and rigor that scientific research demands. The gap between a promising hypothesis and a reliable result is where the real learning happens.

Chemistry Is Everywhere

Making chemistry accessible through creative science communication

The 'Chemistry Is Everywhere' Chemical Science Popularization Competition challenged us to demonstrate how chemistry connects to everyday life. Our team created a science communication project that aimed to make complex chemical concepts accessible and engaging to a general audience.

We advanced to the national finals in October 2025 and earned the Third Prize in the Youth Group. The competition pushed us to think about chemistry not just as a subject to study, but as a lens through which to understand the world around us.

The experience reinforced something I've come to believe deeply: the best science communication doesn't simplify — it translates. It finds the right metaphor, the right visual, the right story to make abstract concepts feel concrete and relevant.
